In the beginning…
So, about me, huh? Okay… Born and raised on the south coast of England, I’ve been wondering around this planet since the 1980’s. Which means that, if I were a car, I would be well on my way to being vintage by now. This thought amuses and depresses me in equal measure. But, I digress…
I have always enjoyed both reading and writing. Whilst still at school, I often wrote the stories which burst into my mind, filling notebooks with them before throwing them away when I was done. This never struck me as odd. It’s just how I was.
Add to that a hunger to read anything which amused me, and maybe I should have taken the hint to start writing sooner.
But, instead, I spent over fifteen years in the communications and IT industries, running my own businesses and writing marketing fluff whenever I could.
…let there be words!
That was until mid-2016 when my partner asked me what I wanted to do with my life. Not just for now, but the rest of my days. I was surprised by how obvious the answer was; I want to write. Blogs. Short stories. Novels. All of it.
And so here we are, since late 2017 I have been working on my first novel, Relative Horizon, which has now been joined by a second, unrelated novel, The Walls of Tartarus, a third about Stuart The Barbarian and a clutch of short stories too.
I am also a freelance copy and blog writer for hire. So, if you’re looking to have a fine edge put on your website’s words or need a blog crafted to perfection, drop me a line.
It’s been a wild ride so far (writing is vastly more exciting than one might, at first, think) and I look forward to seeing what happens from here.
